Is your Wu-Yi Tea certified organic? What is organic and why is it better for your health? The bottom line is the new wave of going “organic” is better for the environment and it is better for our bodies. The term “organic” is essentially a natural alternative to farming as opposed to employing methods of using chemicals to destroy pests in crops. The quick and easy reasons for going “organic” are as follows: no synthetic pesticides, no herbicides, no preservatives, and no additives are part of the organic world that would harm our bodies as a result of these toxic chemicals. Also, when one is farming organically there is usually less soil erosion, less groundwater pollution, and improved farm biodiversity (different types of crops grown at the same time that benefit the soil in different ways). Hence, the environment is less destroyed as a result of better farming practices and you have an increase in soil nutritional value. Healthy soil, equals healthy plants, equals healthy humans!!!

To give you a little lesson on conventional farming, it was started in the 1940’s and radically changed the way North America produced agricultural goods as pests and weeds were virtually eradicated. As a result, crops soared significantly because of this new breakthrough which seemed wonderful at the time. Eventually however, both insects and weeds developed resistance to the chemicals. As a result more and more powerful toxic pesticides were needed to get rid of pests to keep the crops at the same production level (not good).

If soil erosion is evident in the environment due to the conventional way of farming, think of the form of erosion that is being done to our bodies! According to a study done by the Better Living Through Chemistry, scientists found that breast cancer is associated with pesticide residue. Since breast cancer is a major killer of women, just following some simple steps of eating organically grown products could reduce this statistic. Also, as a bonus, organic foods have higher levels of nutrients and antioxidants than non-organic foods. The nutrients that are most affected from this new age of farming with pesticides are vitamin C, beta carotene and B vitamins. Vitamin C has been documented to prevent and treat cancers, hence loss of these important vitamins in our foods is detrimental.

So why is it important to drink organic tea? Well, for one, most tea does not come from the US, but from China and other parts of the world. In order to know for certain that your tea does not have loads of dangerous chemicals from not only pesticides, but from the environment you should always drink certified organic tea. If it is not certified organic from an accredited agency, almost any poison that you can imaging may be in your tea from the agriculture and production of the tea. This is very scary when you really take time to think about it!

If it is not USDA certified organic from an accredited agency such as Quality Assurance International QAI, then almost any poison that you can imagine may be in your tea from the agriculture and production of the tea. Organic is the new way of the future for the educated consumer and The Wu-Yi Tea Company knows how important organic products are to your health. This is why we chose QAI certifying agency for our accreditation, one of the most esteemed agencies in the world!

Buying tea that is certified organic is one way to feel comforted that something you are putting into your body that you consider a healthy product, is actually doing some good to your body instead of just the opposite. One of the most esteemed certifying agencies in the world is Quality Assurance International, which is who The Wu-Yi Tea Company uses as it’s certifying agency.

You can feel secure in the fact that The Wu-Yi Tea Company is owned by an organic health company , Global Organics, Inc. and only uses the finest organic products in the world. So with all that has been said about choices between organic vs. non-organic, we now know to choose a cup of “certified organic” Wu-Yi Tea and Wu-Yi Cleansing Tea and hope you will too!

Want to sweeten that cup of Wu-Yi tea if you must? There are a plethora of sweeteners to choose from, resulting in refined, unrefined and organic products. The big question herein lies – Which sweetener is the healthiest and best to consume if even possible?

Top of the list is, Rapadura as it is the only product that is “whole” cane juice. Second on the list as the healthiest to consume is Sucanat; both are evaporated cane juice and the only out of all sweeteners that have the “most” nutritional value. These are the most natural ways to sweeten your wu-yi tea and wu-yi cleansing tea.

Sweeteners to keep your wu-yi tea away from-Refined sugars such as white sugar, brown sugar, honey and fructose corn syrup reach the body in a highly concentrated form and go directly into the bloodstream. Hence, these sugars are best to avoid at all costs as high amounts of these sugars can lead to pre-diabetes and diabetes. Basically, the sugar rush is caused when consumed and the sugar is dumped into the bloodstream of fast burning glucose, which the body must process with insulin. Overusing your insulin can deplete your body of this naturally occurring process causing disease. Of the previous sugars, white table sugar and corn syrup are highly processed containing no nutritional benefits. Naturally occurring and unrefined sugars contain minute amounts of nutrients.

White Sugar – When white sugar is made, molasses (black syrup) is removed entirely and a bleaching takes affect with bone char. You should avoid white sugar for your tea is possible.

Brown Sugar - White sugar that has had molasses added to it.

Raw Honey – a popular sweetener with small amounts of B vitamins and enzymes and is believed to have medicinal properties. This is a great way to sweeten your tea.

**Agave Nectar**- This is simply the nectar from the Agave plant (which also gives us tequila!). It is great tasting and is a natural way to sweeten your tea safely. It is my favorite natural sweetener that I use in my Wu-Yi Tea.

Blackstrap Molasses – also has nutrients but the strong flavor is not as popular with most.

Organic Sugar – Approximately 50% less processed than white sugar. It is considered unrefined and comes from evaporated juice. *Great way to sweeten your tea.

Minimally processed sweeteners – Sucanat and Rapadura are evaporated cane juice powders and are even healthier choices than organic sugar because these sugars believe it or not contain nutrients and minerals!

AVOID: Nutrasweet, Splenda, Sweet and Low and other artificial sweeteners. You are better off using a bit of Agave Necatar or nothing at all as these products are made up of unatural ingredients to stick to your body and some actually consider them toxins.

The following is a guide of food/drinks to avoid with unhealthy sweeteners

Having skin problems, aches and pains, or digestive problems? Straying from your healthier habits recently? There are an abundance of unidentified vapors and ingredients that we come in contact with on a day by day basis that literally destroys our bodies. In order to sustain optimum health and avoid and prevent disease before it begins we all must make better choices in how we treat our bodies. A great way to get rid of toxins that weigh down the body is a system known as detoxification or cleansing of the system. Having a green body is the first step to feeling good and achieving good health. That is where Wu-Yi Cleansing Tea comes to play in your weight loss and good health journey.

Detoxification- Detoxification is a process of cleaning the blood that runs through our body. This is done predominantly by removing impurities from the blood in the liver and colon which is where many toxins are processed for elimination. The body also eliminates toxins through the kidneys, intestines, lungs, lymph and skin. When toxins build up in the body, the human system is compromised, impurities aren’t accurately filtered and every cell in the body is negatively affected. By removing and eliminating toxins and then feeding your body with healthy nutrients, detoxification will help protect you from disease and restore your ability to maintain optimum health. Practiced for centuries by many cultures around the world, detoxification is about resting, cleaning and nourishing the body from the inside out. That is why we include the Wu-Yi Cleansing Tea in our diet regime so that you can remove deadly toxins while on your journey to good health.

A detox program can help the body’s natural cleaning process by:
1) Resting the organs through fasting;
2) Stimulating the liver to drive toxins from the body;
3) Promoting elimination through the intestines, kidneys and skin;
4) Improving circulation of the blood; and
5) Refueling the body with healthy nutrients.

Where Do You Begin?

Lighten your load! Eliminate alcohol, coffee, cigarettes, refined sugars and saturated fats, all of which work as toxins in the body and are obstacles to your healing process. Also, reduce use of chemical household cleaners and personal health care products (cleansers, shampoos, deodorants and toothpastes), and substitute natural alternatives.

Another deterrent to good health is stress which triggers your body to release stress hormones into your system. While these hormones can provide the “adrenaline rush” to win a race or meet a deadline, in large amounts they create toxins and slow down detoxification enzymes in the liver. So it’s a good idea to detox stressful life situations along with detoxifying your body. Yoga and meditation are simple and effective ways to relieve stress by resetting your physical and mental reactions to the inevitable stress life will bring. Creating a healthier body, though, is not just the only reason that we should be engaging in total body cleansing.

One positive effect that a detoxification can have on the body is to improve our body odor. Many people don’t realize that body odor can become a major problem and that detoxification is able to overcome it. Another positive effect that detoxification can have is that it can clear our minds. Once our physical bodies become detoxified then our mind becomes clear and we can think and engage in mental activity better than we could before. All of these things will help us do whatever work we need to engage in throughout the week.

Another major effect of a detoxification process is that our organs will also be cleaner. Not many people think about the fact that our colon, kidneys, liver, as well as many of the other organs that we have all do rigorous work day in and day out. This is something that we take for granted, however, detoxification can change everything and make all of our organs cleaner in order to function properly.

As you can see, detoxification is truly important in the lives of everyone. Even though not everyone has been used to the detoxification process, it is literally our responsibility to keep our bodies clean. Following a cleansing program while drinking your Wu-Yi Cleansing Tea will definitely help use through every facet of our lives!

The Wu-Yi Tea Company, based out of health conscious Austin, Texas has created a slimming tea capsule, Wu-Yi Tea Slim Caps, that will finally live up to all claims of weight loss benefits and healthy side effects. To begin, the Wu-Yi Tea Slim Caps are made from certified organic oolong tea and green tea extracts which is wonderful as more and more studies have shown great benefits from tea extracts. Not only is this extract certified organic, which is comforting, but when it comes to standardization for ingredients in the tea extract they got the best of the best. Tea extract is usually standardized for three ingredients, polyphenols, catechins and EGCGs. All of these funny sounding ingredients are antioxidants which we all know are what keeps us healthy and fights free radicals in the body. The Wu-Yi Tea Slim Caps are standardized for 98% polyohenols (the highest possible) 80% Catechins and 50% EGCGs (both also very high considering it is organic). Studies have shown the abundance of these types of antioxidants helps to reduce weight, fight disease and keep us healthy. When looking at most other tea supplements on the market, it is extremely rare to see one that has all of these high standardizations and be certified organic. The Wu-Yi Tea company has made sure to pack the capsules with both green and oolong tea extracts high in all of these antioxidants.

To combat hunger Wu-Yi Slim Caps also includes Garcinia Cambogia and Citrus Arantain, fruit extracts native to Southeast Asia which are well known natural appetite suppressants. These extracts are showing significant side effects of reducing appetite and also lowering of that bad LDL Cholesterol. And for energy when you may be sluggish from dieting they have added ginseng extract and just the right amount of guarana. What a great combination of healthy ingredients and they are all right there to see on the supplemental facts label! They hide nothing from the consumer.

“This is something we are anxious for our returning and new health conscious customers to try,” says , Lara House, head of marketing. “We are excited and proud of all of the great ingredients we chose; it has all the attributes of a great natural weight loss aid.”

Stress, we all have it and we also know that the effects of stress can be dangerous for our health. So now that we all know this, let’s make certain changes in our lives to eliminate stress and have a healthier lifestyle. By including certain foods, exercises and relaxation techniques into our daily lives, we can alleviate stress.

First off, there are certain foods that contain nutritional elements which can help deal with stress.

For example, Complex Carbohydrates (whole grains, broccoli, leafy greens, potatoes, corn and bananas) which cause serotonin to be released into the brain naturally calming the body and mind; Magnesium whichthe body uses to fight stress and promote restful sleep (leafy vegetables, nuts and whole grains), Vitamin B6 which helps to deliver magnesium into the cells (B complex supplement containing thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, B6, folic acid, B12 and biotin), Vitamin C because stress can deplete our bodies of this beneficial immunity boost vitamin; and Calcium which among other benefits we are more aware of also when combined with magnesium relaxes the muscles.

There are also certain foods that should be reduced or avoided completely in our daily diet to get control of our stress levels. These include: refined sugar and alcohol which both lower blood sugar levels causing stress and anxiety, and caffeine which increases the stress that our bodies try to manage. All of these stimulants we often turn to as a quick “fix” for stress, but there benefits are temporary and can create more stress and lead to an unhealthy cycle and sometimes addictions.

Furthermore, certain exercises can help to reduce stress. There are the relaxation and mediation exercises such as Yoga. Since yoga requires controlled breathing and concentration on holding certain poses, it creates a balance of mind, body and spirit. In contrast more rigorous aerobic exercises which use large muscles of the body in repetitive and rhythmic movements (jogging, swimming and cycling) can also assist in limiting stress. These exercises help to release endorphins which have been proven to relieve symptoms of clinical depression.

Moreover, by learning to have your mind and body work in unison through mediation, breathing and visual exercises we can bring ourselves into a state of pure relaxation. The repetition of words, movement, breathing pattern allows the mind to concentrate on one specific thought and idea. These kinds of exercises are convenient because there are no limitations to when and where you can do them. You can be at your desk in your office and do some breathing or mediation exercises.

These are all simple ways to help us reduce the stress which seems to take over our lives and damage our health. We must incorporate the helpful stress relieving foods into our diet, avoid those substances which create more stress and find the right exercise routine and relaxation techniques that keep us relaxed, happy and healthy.

Rachel Ray knows the health benefits of drinking tea. Now you too can find out what all of the buzz is about.

To begin, green tea, oolong (Wu-Yi) (wulong) tea and black tea are all derived from the same plant (Camellia Sinensis), a perennial evergreen shrub. Oolong tea falls in between green and black tea as far as processing. (fermentation or oxidation) Green tea is oxidized less (thus retaining the valuable anti-oxidants, EGCG’s) while black tea is oxidized the most usually having a higher concentration of caffeine with a stronger flavor.

Wu-Yi Oolong tea from the Wu-Yi Mountains in the Fujian Province of China is considered by some to be the most prized and expensive of all the oolong teas in the world. It was often used as gifts to foreign dignitaries.

(increasing your resting metabolic rate)

With tea becoming all of the rage in more of the Western cultures and more specifically the US, the different uses of tea names for the same types of tea has everyone a bit confused! Is it wu long tea or wulong tea? And what is the difference from oolong tea?! Further, what is considered to be real tea and what is considered to be herbal tea? This has most people guessing what to drink to get the most out of the classic beverage.

Pay attention, it may get complicated….

Lately, there’s been a growing buzz about the wulong, wu long or wu-yi tea and its ability to help with weight loss so we decided to find out what all of the different spellings are about. The first lesson of tea and the various names of tea is to understand what is real tea and what is considered to be herbal tea. To begin, wu long, wulong, wu-yi, are all really oolong teas, which is similar to green tea. The name wu long tea is another pronunciation of oolong that began within the different Chinese cultures and thus different pronunciations. Wulong tea is another variation of this same type of tea, but it is all considered to be oolong tea. Oolong tea or wulong tea comes from the same plant as green tea, white tea and black tea, the camellia sinensis plant. Teas from this plant are all real teas and are not considered herbal teas. Wu-Yi tea is also wulong or oolong tea, it just comes from the Wu-Yi Moutains in China.

How are we doing so far?

The difference from oolong tea (wu-long tea), green tea, black tea, and white tea is the amount of fermentation or oxidation of the camellia sinensis plant leaves. White tea is not fermented at all while green tea is semi-fermented, oolong tea or wulong tea is fermented a bit more and then black tea is fermented the most. Oolong tea or Wu Long tea is considered to be fermented right in the middle of this oxidation scale. Because oolong tea (wulong tea) is fermented right in the middle it retains high amounts of polyphenols which are the fat burning ingredients in oolong tea (wu long tea) that has made it so popular for weight loss. It fermented a bit more than green tea so it loses some of the powerful antioxidants of green tea so it is somewhat a tradeoff. More powerful fat burners (oolong tea) or healthy antioxidants (green tea)? The popular Wu-Yi Oolong tea has attributes of both green and oolong tea so it is a happy medium.

Almost there, stay with me…..

Herbal teas are just teas made from different plants other than the camellia sinensis plant and do not have the same long term health benefits as real tea. Most herbal teas are used for their immediate medicinal side effects such as to relax or for loosening the bowel or even to help with allergies. Examples of herbal tea are ginger tea, kombucha tea, or senna tea. Teas from the camelia sinensis plant are known to have great long term health benefits due to the high levels of antioxidants that fight diseases and promote overall good health.

So drink up your wulong wu-long oolong tea from the camelia sinensis plant and start finding out what all of the hype is about!
